Old school games are harsh

I recently beat Link to the Past which I had been playing on my GBA. As the credits started to roll, I put it down and didn’t really pay attention to it. When I looked at it again, it was listing all of the dungeons with numbers next to them.

What… what were these numbers? I had no idea since I missed whatever was above them. It finally finished listing them and then it said,

Total Lives Used: 97

It kept count of how many times I’ve died in the game?! Oh man, I suck! It’s like the game is saying, “hey thanks for beating me, but look at how many times you died just to get there.” I obviously need to re-learn the ways of old school games and how to not die all the time.
