And this is where we differ

Buckley and I have been playing Magicka lately as our next co-op game together. It’s an action-adventure game that lets you combine different magics to produce different spells. While the game tells you how to do some of it, the rest is left for you to experiment. Like… let’s see what happens if I do 2 arcanes and 2 fires, or 1 shield and 4 earths, etc etc.

That’s where our play styles start to differ. I’m the type who would rather learn along the way. I’m not patient enough to mess around to see what I can do right in the beginning. I would rather figure it out as I play.¬†Buckley, on the other hand, is total opposite. Before going anywhere in the game, he’d prefer to try everything, see what he could fully do. He wants to see what’s available and what he’s capable of before really starting.

We’re normally great together in co-op games, but… I think this difference in play style is starting to annoy us a little! I want to move on faster, while he wants to experiment with the magics more.

What is your play style when it comes to stuff like this?

I think I’m like Buckley. XD; Hell, I even read the manual before I boot up a game . . . but sometimes that doesn’t help me O_o;; So I just learn as I go. Sometimes I don’t figure something out until I’m almost done with the game, and I’m yelling “SO THAT’S WHAT ____ DOES!”

Oh how neat. I definitely need to check that game out. I love steam’s prices XD

I think I’m more like you. Just let me find it all out in my own time… I’ll eventually get there. I’m not really an elitist. I have my own playing style and that’s how I like it!
