Kirby’s Return to Dreamland
I played and finished this Wii game recently. After games like Mass Attack and Epic Yarn, Kirby returns to the traditional gameplay of copying enemy abilities. While I liked those other 2 games, it is nice to get another “normal” Kirby game.

Most of the abilities I recognize from past games, and each one has a list of moves you can do. (Like down+attack might do something different than just attack.) And well, like most recent Kirby games, it’s not that hard, though some bosses are more challenging than others. You won’t find anything really new or different in this game, but if you’re up for some “old school” action, this is a fun one to play.

And while still very much in a Kirby mood, I bought Kirby’s Dream Collection, which celebrates Kirby’s 20th anniversary. I haven’t played it yet, but it has Kirby’s Dreamland 1-3, Kirby’s Adventure, Kirby Super Star, and Kirby 64. I actually haven’t played half of those games, so I’m pretty excited to have them now XD

Mass Effect 3
I recently unlocked both Volus kits! (Yes, I realize a lot of people probably name their Volus Adept, Biotic God.)

There are a few kits that can be support-like, but these Volus… are very much so. Both have Shield Boost, which I like a lot, and it feels like I’m playing healer. It’s as it sounds: it repairs and boosts shields. I have both specced so that it also gives 50% damage reduction for 6 seconds. It’s especially great for hacking and escort missions where everyone is in one place.

The adept has stasis and Biotic Orbs. Each orb gives a recharge speed boost, or they can be launched to hit/detonate enemies. The engineer has 2 mines, Recon and Proximity, both of which can detonate and be specced where affected enemies take more damage from all sources.

Oh, but they are awkward to play! They are shorter than everyone else, and thus cannot see over some cover. They can’t take cover either. Their base health is 150, which makes them pretty squishy. Fortunately, their light melee is a cloak, so that’s good for reviving people. Cloak, revive, shield boost. They took a little getting used to, but it’s actually pretty fun sometimes XD;;
